At this Community Club workshop, you'll turn a plain black tote bag into a personal piece with your own monogram (your initials), hand-lettered in Copperplate.
Copperplate is the elegant, flowing script of old letters and invitations. You don't need any calligraphy experience. The workshop takes you from your first practice strokes to a finished bag you'll actually use.
About the Artist:
Kamilla Spitsyna, Calligrapher with an architectural background PhD in Psychology. Focused on greek scripts. Author of Airbnb Experiences-Athens, GR.
The Idea:
You leave with a one-of-a-kind tote bag with your personal monogram, made entirely by you. You'll also know the basics of Copperplate lettering, which you can use for cards, gifts, and more.

The Idea:
- Get inspired. A short introduction to Copperplate and how monograms are built.
- Learn the strokes. Warm-up exercises on the basic Copperplate strokes, then practice capital letters using guided worksheets. Letters are taught in groups by shape, so they come together quickly.
- Design your monogram. Trace your chosen initials on tracing paper, then move and combine them into one balanced design. Decide where it will sit on your bag.
- Transfer it to the bag. Use transfer paper to copy your sketch onto the fabric.
- Bring it to life. Letter your monogram onto the tote with white textile markers: bold main strokes, then fine flourishes. Your teacher helps you perfect the details.
