Spent1 (b. 1993, Heraklion, Crete) began his artistic practice as a graffiti writer in 2007. He holds a multidisciplinary academic background, having studied Materials Science at the University of Crete, Graphic Design at the Vellios School of Fine Arts (on scholarship), and completed an MSc in Art & Design through AKTO and Middlesex University (also scholarship-funded). He is a registered member of the Greek Chamber of Fine Arts.
Spent1’s work has been exhibited internationally across galleries, festivals, and commissioned projects. His practice centres on abstract compositions that merge figurative elements with geometric patterning and bold chromatic palettes. Characterised by layered multiplicity, his pieces employ alternating techniques and hues to create dynamic visual narratives. Through this approach, he invites viewers to engage with his distinct aesthetic language while encouraging individual interpretation.
Professionally, Spent1 has collaborated with leading global brands, corporate entities, luxury hotel groups, cultural institutions, and creative agencies, alongside partnerships with fellow artists. He has been broadly exhibited in Greece.
Artist Statement
We don’t often get the opportunity to speak politically through art, such expression is censored or pushed to the margins. That’s why I’m proud to be part of this exhibition with my art piece, “REact.”
This work is aiming to spotlight the power of working people — the ones who truly have the ability to shape history. At the same time, it’s a reflection on how we often retreat behind screens while the world continues to change around us. Watching isn’t enough. We need to stand up and take action.
“React” is a reminder: the world doesn’t change with likes — it changes through collective struggle.
